Visited here for lunch on "Black Friday" and the place was a madhouse. However, the staff was working their tails off and the service was great. The dining room was full of people and I was worried at first we wouldnt even locate a free table, but we got one. I love the iced tea here--always freshly brewed. I would take this place over a Panara, Jimmy Johns, or Subway anyday.

I ate here with my sister. Having been to other delis I was a little surprised that this place didn't meet my deli expectations. The coffee was probably one of the worst coffees I have ever thought had. It was very bitter and disappointing. The Reuben was good, but off a bit. The corned beef was too thin and the taste was off a bit, and so was the kraut. The pasta salad side was amazing! I'd come back just for that. The wait staff was good. The music was WAY too loud and made table chat almost impossible. I'll be back though. I want to try the muffaletta. Keep trying, McAlisters... You're so close to being a regular place for me!

Popped into McAllister's for the "New Yorker", basically hot pastrami on rye. Frankly, I was trying to call the bluff that McAllister's could make a new york style pastrami. It was one of those times I wished I was wrong. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was decent. But I was expecting a tall---ok maybe not a katz's skyscraper---sandwich that shaggy and scooby each would have salivated over. Probably a great portion for lunch, but for dinner? Make one at home.

Food was great. Service was quick; in spite of it being a busy Thursday night. Had the grilled chicken caesar salad. Fresh taste, didn't drown the lettuce with dressing. Free tea night was a bonus. Didn't get the 5th star due to cleanliness. They were slow to bus and wipe tables. Had to wipe our own table.

Always good. Wish they served their taco salad in a tortilla bowl. My kids love the mac n' cheese and my wife can't get enough of this place- usually orders a sandwich of some sort and is seldom, if ever, disappointed.

Had lunch at McAlister's Deli yesterday and came away with a very favorable view of both the food and the level of service. Since this was my first visit, I wanted to try a couple of different items, so I went with their 'Choose 2'. There are no limits on which items from the menu that you may choose. I went with "a cup" of potato soup and half an Orange Cranberry Club sandwich. The "cup" at McAlister's is a generous size (more of a bowl) and the potato soup is served topped with chopped chives, crumbled real bacon and shredded cheddar cheese which makes it even more tasty! The Orange Cranberry Club consists of Butterballâ„¢ smoked turkey, Black Forest ham, applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, orange cranberry sauce and lite mayo on harvest wheat bread All ingredients were fresh and the combination quite good. Sis ordered a 'Choose 2' combo of Broccoli-cheese soup and half a Cheese Spud, loaded with melted cheddar-jack cheese. At McAlister's they don't mess around with wimpy, small bakers! Sis' Spud was ginormous and looked delicious. The friendly young woman who took our order at the counter assured us that all their Spuds are the 'really large ones'. It was a rainy, damp day when we visited McAlister's but inside it was bright and spacious with soaring ceilings, and a happy and welcoming atmosphere with lots of cheerful, helpful staff. Everyone made sure we had drink refills and that we were happy with our food. We came away with a great impression of McAlister's Deli and I look forward to another visit. I want one of those Giant Baked Potatoes next time!

This was my second visit and both times the wait time was horrible. Today I had to wait 20 minutes in line just order because the cashier messed up with the guy in grit of me. Then waited another 10 for my food. Once I had my food and was driving away I realized I was only given half of my wrap! Also, the half I did get was dry and pretty plain. Don't plan on going back.

The best thing about this place is of course the sweet tea. The food is better than another chain deli named Jason's. Still very average and canned food. I guess go if super hungry and near by. Tea a yes. Food a maybe.

McAlister's food and pricing is very similar to Panera Bread's except McAlister's has a whole lot more to pick from (a very creative, fun menu) and they also have servers who bring your food to you and refill your drinks. I ordered a choose 2 deal with half a bowl of taco salad and half a sandwich called "Big Nasty." Why on earth you would call a sandwich "Big Nasty" is way beyond me, but it was delicious. It was an open faced roast beef sandwich with shredded cheese, rich gravy, and green onions. They have advertisements for their sweet tea absolutely everywhere in the restaurant. Their passion for their sweet tea intrigued me, so I tried it. That tea was oh so very sweet and satisfying! I will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Amazing staff - friendly, helpful and quick to serve food. Delicious recipes, especially the homemade broccoli cheddar soup! I could legitimately eat there three times a week. Can be busy during lunchtime but an awesome atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Definitely recommend this place to others!

My work had lunch catered today by McAllister's, so this review will only be based on their box lunches until I have the chance to go to the restaurant itself. My whole experience can be summed up in one word: Average. I had a turkey sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Nothing was bad, but there are a number of places nearby that I can think of that do a much better job catering. The bread on my sandwich was a little dense, and the toppings kinda bland. The cookie was ok. Large, but not great. I will say that their sweet tea and lemonade (I have a sick obsession with Arnold Palmers) was pretty good though. Not quite southern sweet tea, but close enough. I'll give them a second chance to impress with their restaurant, but for now getting take out is just OK.

Asked for their choose two chili and half sandwich The chili not bad but half roast beef had two small pieces of meat. Didn't even cover the bread. Won't go back.

I have a friend who literally eats at McAlister's at least three times a week. She says it's for their sweet tea. Naturally, I had to visit to see what the hype was all about. I've only had semi-sad experiences at the chain in the past, though the location in Lee's Summit redeemed the franchise for me. This McAlister's is located in the heart of Summit Fair shopping center, which means lots of well-light parking and always an excuse to shop after you chow down. The staff welcomed us and kept us well watered and served during our lunch. As a vegetarian, I was surprised with all the menu offered: veggie chili, tons of salads, a godzilla-sized potato (with or without said veggie chili), soups, sandwiches, etc etc etc. Want something healthy - salad! Want some homey comfort? Loaded Spud. Want cheesy carbs? Super Nachos. Don't forget the warm chocolate chip cookie and cold Arnold Palmer to go with it. I ordered a salad and sandwich (from the menu - they didn't have to make something special for this vegetarian) and was served more than I could finish and thus had dinner waiting for me when I got home. Free, HUGE refills that will keep you hydrated through the apocalypse. The place is super clean, tidy, inviting. Don't mind if I do while I use your free wi-fi all afternoon. Best of all - this location is super involved in our community and support local food banks. Nice to have you in the neighborhood, McAlister's.

My wife and I tried a sandwich and salad here the other night when we went out. The chop salad was tasteless and nothing like described, oh and it also had a hair in it. When I went back to ask for more dressing they had to ask me what type of dressing was on it!!! My wife tried a sandwich and the meat was like you would get at the grocery store in the plastic containers, tasteless and watery. The sandwich was also slathered in honey mustard to try and add some flavor, but it just made it worse. The prices were also pretty high. I am not sure if something else is good here, but we certainly did not find anything. Wish we had gone to b:2 instead, what a disappointment.

8/14/10 Went here for lunch. I ordered from the Pick 2 menu 1/2 Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar sandwich I had the chili for the second item The sandwich had very little meat, could barely taste the horseradish. Bread was tuff, and for being a panini is was cold The chili was a canned. To me it tasted like Chef Mate. Which is good for a canned chili but not what I expected in this day and age when places are making items from fresh. Prices are average. The atmosphere is a basic lunch counter. Kind of noisy. My food took about 15 minutes to come out. Which I would say is a long time for a sandwich and canned chili Probably will not go back

I must admit, I've become a McAlisters convert. I find it so much more satisfying than Panera Bread and the menu is much more diverse. The best part is their children's menu which features items that kids will actually eat and enjoy. I personally like their McAlisters Club which is never overdressed with mustard and the meats taste fresh and are never dry. I also enjoy their soups and cheesy spud. The service is generally timely, usually within five minutes, but they do have their busier times when I've had to wait slightly longer.

Wow, the lady with the crew cut who took my order did not smile , say hello , or even a your welcome when I thanked her for giving back my credit card. After all I heard about this place , I don't think I will be back. And the bbq nachos were dry and not appetizing . I was generous with the three stars.

I stopped here for a quick lunch one recent Sunday afternoon. Food here is pretty good. It is deli style food in the vein of a Jason's or Panera. I don't know if I'd seek it out over one of those others, but I didn't have any complaints. I'm not a tea fan, so maybe I'd have a much different view if I was.
